Scarves
It’s no secret that I love scarves! I grew up with my mother wearing them and have had many women in my life that have worn them consistently. So I’ve seen them my whole life and have developed this love affair with scarves.
Silk scarves have a rich history, evolving from practical necessities to symbols of wealth and status, particularly in ancient China and later in Europe. Initially used for protection and comfort, they became fashion accessories, particularly during the Renaissance and 18th century. Silk scarves were also used in military uniforms, indicating rank.
Silk Scarves are the ultimate sophisticated accessory for me. It’s a touch of elegance without being over the top. You can have such a simple outfit and if you add a silk scarf then it just really takes your look to the next level.
Like with many fashion elements, scarves can be a form of expressing yourself. This can shine through in the brand you choose, the country origins of the brand, the colors, the pattern, the items on the scarf and how you choose to style it. I understand that all the choices are can be just too much when you are just starting to wear a scarf. There are so many sizes, shapes, colors, fabrics, and patterns to scarves that I think it can be overwhelming and intimidating. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be and I’m here to break it down for you.
These are three main silk scarf sizes and ways that I would recommend you can style them:
1. Twilly-2” x 34”
2. Square-23.5” x 23.5”
3. Square-34.8” x 34.8”
The most important thing is that you start playing around with it and start taking your scarves out for a spin. And I’ll tell you a little secret…you can’t go wrong. Just make it your own and wear it with CONFIDENCE!!!
If you are looking for a few scarves, I’ve got you covered!
with LOVE and grace,
Elizabeth
